Just wondering where folks carry when driving. I appendix carry so that my weapon is easily accessible even when buckled in and driving. This applies when my family or passengers are in the car or truck.
When driving alone I switch it up a bit. This is what my passenger seat looks like while traveling to and from work. Pretty much the only time I every have a nice quiet drive alone...

Bad pic from my cell phone while driving. I know how dangerous that might be, but me and everyone else on the road are still alive.

I am glad to see that you have given accessibility some serious thought while driving. So many times we don't take that into consideration while traveling, and find out at the wrong time that where we have the firearm is not accessible as we thought.
I have only one reservation about your seat carry method. I speak to this from experience as an officer on a couple of enforcement operations. When you hit the brake hard, it appears that your firearm bag will go sliding onto the floor. This won't increase your speed in getting into action, but will slow you down, and cause you to have to take your eyes off the threat.
If you prefer to continue keeping your bag on the seat, might I suggest that you use your seat belt to secure it. This can be done by running the shoulder strap through the bag, and having the lap belt lay across the front of the bag with the buckle snapped in place.
This will keep everything where it should be when you need it. Other options are drop down shelves, concealed holsters around consoles, or under the dash. Vehicles with compartments on the door, are also options for weapon access while keeping the weapon concealed at the same time.

Good point blkdragon, When driving, I like to keep my cc firearm in the 3-4 o'clock possition. My reasoning behind this is if someone does walk up to the window with a weapon and tells me to get out of the vehicle, I will have to take my seatbelt off to get out. My firearm will be right next to the latch and the guy standing outside my won't see this I hope. Just my thoughts.

Great suggestion. I think I'll start doing this. Thanks for the insight! :)

I keep an extra holster between the seats on my 60/40 bench seat for my truck. I have to use extra care as I have a three and a two year old that are quick at getting into things. On short trips I keep it in my CCW holster and the longer ones I put it in the seat holster.

I've used that method as well. I have bucket seats in my Impala and have stuffed my GLOCK between the seat and console. This has worked pretty well but I'm always concerned about the pistol slipping down between the two and not being there when/if I need it. I never actually had it slip out of place but was concerned that it might...

I would be careful about just putting them between the seats. I have a good friend that told me a story about his granddaughter. Her dad had a revolver between the pick-up seats and she grabbed the gun by the barrel and tried lift it up and out. I am not sure if it pulled the hammer back or pulled the trigger as she pulled it out but somehow the pressure of the seats made it go off with her hand on the barrel and they spent many thousands of dollars for reconstructive surgery on her hand. I think a gun in the automobile should be in some kind of holster that protects the trigger, especially if anyone gets in your vehicle (even for a minute) without you in it. A console vault or a lock box would be best because you can lock them when you are not in the vehicle and unlock them when you are. I personally carry mine in my crossbreed at all times, that way no-one can get a hold of it without my permission, and I have a lock box in the truck for the places I can't carry.

I actually keep mine in a holster all the time, even when I was trying out the "between the seats" method. See the first post in this thread. That's the holster it stays in unless I need to take it out. Any time someone is with me in the vehicle I appendix carry. IWB just to the right of 12 o-clock...

Good call on the console vault. I have one in my Tundra and I love it. It makes me at ease knowing it is always secure. It is well worth the money for one. Plus forum members get a discount plus free shipping.

I carry mine in a homemade seat sling with holster attached. The pistol rides between my knees in a vertical position with the muzzle pointed straight down at the floor. It is very similar to the DeSantis Style N92 Kingston Car Seat Holster seen below:
