Just finished a defensive handgun class and did I ever have a good time. Lots of shooting and even more learning. Now it is time for practice, practice, practice. It is amazing the things I learned and even more amazing the things I didn't know.

Like one drill we went through, attacker from behind, tries to grab your gun, you grab his hand. Gun and strong hand out of action. What do you do? Grab the knife in your pocket on the weak side.

Which brings me to my question. What do you guys carry or recommend for this situation?

any knife thats sharp but kabar has a new knife out that is meant just for that. I dont have one but have seen videos on it,here is the link https://www.kabar.com/product_search.jsp?mode=category&pageNumber=6&start=41&categoryId=1&categoryName=Military/Tactical and here is the link to the www.tacticalgearmag.com , the video is on this website but I could not get the link to work that would take you right to the video. but I carry a gerber knife and a small case knife in the other pocket, just rember what ever type of knife you carry know how to use it and how to keep it sharp, and have it with you at all times, a folder is easier to carry but not as fast fixed blade to put into action.

I use a Karambit. Look them up. It's not a folder. It's a one peice design. Very versitile, but does a great job at getting into those areas of the body that need to be gotten to.

Yes pics would be good.

Also I was informed today that switch blade, spring assisted and gravity assisted knives are illegal in NM. Has anyone else heard this?
