Thanks for posting the information on the Refresher class on Memorial Day, Bman505!

I will also be offering the Renewal class (required to renew your concealed carry license after 4 years) at the same time. The shooting portions are the same for the two classes, but there is an additional academic portion required for the Renewal class which will be conducted after the shooting session.

Cost for the Refresher is $35. Cost for the longer Renewal class is $65. Ammunition requirements are the same for each class...100 rounds of ammunition to practice with plus 50 rounds of .45 auto ammunition to qualify with.

Please let me know if you are interested or are planning on attending.

I found some .45 ammo at the True Value store on 9th street for those of you who are locals in Alamo. They had a bunch as well. $24.99 for 50 rounds.

I have a question regarding the 50 rounds of .45s - Why do you need them to qualify for a renewal ?
If you don't own or shoot/carry a .45 , I don't see the point .
I would think some smaller framed people would have trouble using a .45 , with the recoil it can produce.
Sounds like we here in Florida have a good thing as far as renewals or qualifying goes.

Here in NM you are licensed for the largest cal you qua.l with, so we all qual. with .45 revolvers and autos That way you can carry anything you can get your hands on.

OK, Now I understand the reasoning behind that , it makes sense now.
I'm sure I would do the same if required here in Florida.
Although , I don't think my wife would handle the .45 well, the .380 is just about right for her .
Thank you Sam for the explaination .

Even though I'm a pure 10th amendment guy, I wish was that we had just a little more uniformity state to state on CCW.

Then again few states would like my idea of a "Permit" (a birth certificate)

I qualified this weekend with 100% on both! It was a great refresher class. Thanks Richard.
