View Full Version : Any other more active New Mexico Forums?

Having been on this site for several weeks, I have noticed there have only been a few posts and was wondering if there are any other more active forums with a Buy/Sell thread for New Mexico specifically.
I've searched Google a bit but haven't found much. Up here in Colorado, there is CO-AR15.com and the RMGO (Rocky Mountain Gun Owners) www.cologunmarket.com which both are EXTREMELY active, and I have picked up quite a few great supplies, firearms, ammo, and whatever else you can think of from them.
I only ask because sometimes I'd prefer not to hassle with a dealer, and I find there are a lot more deals and bargains with face to face sale/trades. I've also used those sites above to get huge bargains on ammo when someone buys a ton then sells that caliber's firearm and forgets about the ammo, only to find it later and sell it at a price that is impossible to pass up.
So, where does everyone on here go for private party transactions not on this site? Any good sites that you browse in addition to this one?

I hear what you are saying. Bear in mind this site is rather new (this is only the second summer season) and the membership is small.
The key point is that this is SUMMER. Kids out of school, vacation time, outdoors stuff and projects, lot to do and see if you don't mind a bit of a drive. Plenty of reasons NOT to be on the computer posting.
Just keep your eyes open. There has been some good deals on this forum, just not as often as you might like. (See all the "sold" notices ?")
Also great weather to be out shooting instead of posting.

Fair enough. Guess I've just been mentally moving to New Mexico sooner than I'm able to (officially moving down there on Saturday) and wanted to have the same resources available to me as there are up here.
Down here you'll have 35% of the population in 130% of the space. Lets say resource density here is low.

Gotcha. Well I guess I'll just have to keep an eye out for good deals with lots of free shipping if possible. I'm looking forward to living up in the mountains, been wanting to in them for years. We'll see how much I enjoy it after having to drive to Alamogordo often for groceries and other what-have-yous.

Traffic does seem to be down a bit. It is a new forum and it can take a couple of years before it really takes off. Please don't give up on us, we need all the users we can get. I have a few good gun buddies down here who can help you out with those good deals you are looking for. Start with Basin Firearms, his name is James. Tell him you got his info from this forum. Let me know if you need more info on him, send me a PM.

Thanks for the insight, I'll check him out when I get down there. It might be a month or two until I get really settled and finances smooth out a bit, but I will definitely be looking to pick up more stuff in the near future.
I also didn't realize the site was all that new, but agreed, sometimes it can take a while for membership to ramp up.

James with Basin helped me out with an FFL transfer. Much cheaper then the others I called
James is good people, has my business.
Give a yell when you get settled in and we'll get together for some range time.

My job (where I access the internet most of the time) now blocks almost every gun forum I used to be able to access. This site has managed to stay under the radar (for now).

I can't think of any offhand, but a friend sent me a list of proxy servers that you can use to bypass those work filters and still access the sites. Granted, they are used at your own risk and I don't know what would happen if you got caught on a site that was blocked. Facebook is one of the sites that is blocked at most work environments.
