I find it amazing that in my area (Schuylkill county, PA) that so many men are ignorant to the fact that women carry. Or even more ignorant to the fact that woman actually do know how to buy, handle and have a gun. I was recently looking at possibly purchasing the Taurus Judge, the man at the gun counter was like - that is an awful lot of gun for a small woman. HA - who does he think he is. Of course, there was only men standing around the counter. I left and went to another one of our local shops, again it was packed with men, and when I said what I wanted to see, all heads turned. So I proceeded to talk to them about the other guns I own, and how much I enjoy shooting with my husband and children (3 girls and 1 boy), and how much my girls love shooting. I also told them about how I do re-loading and I also make custom holsters. The men still looked on in disbelief. Amazing how far we have come in the world, but men still just don't fully get it. Is it everywhere - or only where I live?

I am not sure you would get that same treatment here. My instructor said that over the past few years of teaching CC classes, over have of them have been to women. I am glad you stood up for yourself!

I probably teach 3x as many women as men.
They do better too, no ego issues to overcome

Up here in CT you don't see a ton of that kind of behavior. I travel out to the Midwest a lot to see family and I'm amazed at the culture differences. Sexism, racism, and gay jokes seem to be the everyday norm out there. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying all people outside the Northeast are jerks. I am saying they are worse than here though.

It must just be the different areas we are from. I grew up in NJ and it was so much different from here. I guess it is how people are raised and where they come from.
