Starting today, July 1, 2010 New Mexico permit holders will be able to legally carry their firearms concealed in any New Mexico Restaurant that serves ONLY Beer and Wine. Please understand that bars and restaurants with full service liquor license do not qualify under the new law. Please use caution anytime carrying in an environment where alcohol is present. Under this new law, you can not carry your firearm while consuming any alcoholic beverages.

I think it's ridiculous the hype the media is giving to this law, I should say negativeness. There is a member of the Restaurant association complaining about mixing guns and beer on KOAT ever 10 minutes this morning and how he was putting up signs to prohibit firearms in his establishment. Seriously, does he think the BG, with ill intentions cares what the law is or isn't.. Ignorance at it's finest.

So do you know the difference when walking into a restaurant what kind of license they have?

Absolutely. It's the difference between a Liquor License and a Beer and Wine License. I assume they have to post their financials on the door ha ha.. How am I suppose to know if they derive 60% of the gross receipts from the sale of food. And I also know if a restaurant posts a sign prohibiting firearms, I'll frequent some where else.
