Hi there guys and girls does anyone know where you can get some kind of paint or something to put on my sights. What I want them for is that the sights on my Taurus 24/7 are next to impossible to see at night and I would like something to replace the ones I have on the gun at the moment. If possible not to expensive as funds are very limited
Thanks In advance

I've never understood night sights. If you need night sights what are the chances you can't see your target either?
Also in an SD situation. You won't be using your sights to aim.

AussieRogue - everything I have read is on paints that must be pre-charged with a light source (sun, flashlight, etc) and then only last a short while.

Jizzle - quick question.
Do you go through life with a half-full or half-empty outlook?
and yes - "HE's BACK"!
Just taunting you as my first post in a long time. LOL
It will be great to get back into the discussions as in the past.

I just don't see the point in night sights for the reasons stated above. You have to be able to identify your target prior to taking the shot, not to mention your backstop, and if you need nightsights just to see your sights, I bet you can't see your target either. They just seem to be a novelty item.
In my opinion (educated or not) laser grips would be a much better investment.

Hey AussieRogue, found this article on line.

For my two cents worth, on my Kimber I got the night sights and laser grips. I am also training on instinctive point shooting when I can. I figure better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it. I like to bring all advantages to bear if I can. Of course as in all things personal preference and pocket book dictate. Again just my opinion. Also like Descreet38 said the paint needs precharging and only lasts a short while. Tritium lasts. Another side benefit to the tritium night sights for me, is I put my gun on the night stand next to my bed for easier access at night (until I get my bed holster). The drawer is too cumbersome and noisy for my liking. The glowing green sights are at eye level when I lye down. Many times in the past I wake up for what ever reason, I look over at my clock on the night stand and I see the sights and I know exactly where my weapon is at and it's orientation.

I agree that laser grips are the way to go but unfortunately they are not made for every pistol on the market. I have been waiting for 7 years in hope they would produce a set for the Cougar but nothing yet.

Then what about the flashlight that goes under the rail with a lazer, or no flashlight just lazer. Also some companies make lazers that replace the spring rail. That might be something to look into.
I very much dislike the laser, works both directions and does not help one bit in target location or identification. Lights are OK but not weapon mounted, unsafe at the least in both directions. You illuminate me with a weapon mounted light and you will be shot.
Theya re also bulky and not particularly good for CCW.
Night sights are very useful in getting good alignment and you generally aren't going to have to engage in the dark without your target giving his location. You might not be able to ID a specific part of the target that you plan on shooting but you can sure get lined up on the silhouette or blob of dark that just took a shot at you.

All good points, lights, lasers, and night sights. Each would be the superior choice in a given situation, but less so in another. I prefer night sights on my pistols, my wife likes her Crimson Trace. Hold the button down just long enough to line it on center mass and squeeze the trigger. If your leaving it on and sweeping the area with it like a flashlight, yeah, you're a target.
