I'm putting this here in hopes that everyone will take a look. Anyone up for a meet and greet? We could meet up at the range in Tularosa, actually meet everyone we talk with here, share some stories and experiences, and spend some time putting holes through paper.

Just a thought. BMan, if you already had something like this in mind for down the road...sorry. I think it'd be interesting to meet some of the folks here and could always use another reason to go to the range.

Can we try for Riclin Firearms Training free clinic in Feb. It will be at the La Luz shooting range on the 15th from 1-3. I will be there and have some freebies for everyone.

Sounds good, I'm sending an email to Richard to try to get signed up now. I have to do a run to the airport in the am but should be able to make it.

I would love to do that, as long as the holes in the paper don't have to be in the bullseye!

Are we going to have a second shooting even before or after the clinic? I'd like to bring my .22.

I don't see why we couldn't meet up prior and/or hang out after. The class is only 1-3pm, that leaves plenty of time. I wouldn't mind plinking with the 22 myself. I also have a CZ 52 I like to shoot that really isn't right for CC.

No worries, isn't that why we take these course? To get a bit better. Mine seldom find just the bull. My six year old son on the other hand can't seem to find any other area of the target with his little Cricket 22. SHOW OFF:mad:

Not to worry though, he'll be at home with mom so as not to make us look bad:D

I received my PX4 sc last night and headed to the range today. That is if they are open. I will give everyone a range report on it this afternoon.

Hey congrats!

Why wouldn't the range be open? Aren't they only closed on Wednesdays & Thursdays?

According to their web site they are open Thursday through Monday from 0830 until dusk. That means that they are closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. I believe that the sign at the entrance says the same thing.

Hey everyone, If you are going to attend the meet at the range on Feb 15th and attend Riclin's shooting clinic, you need to email Richard and let him know that you will be taking his class. The class is from 1pm to 3pm. I will be there around 12 to set up my tent and get a chance to visit and meet you all. Thank you Scooter for the idea. I have a few freebies to hand out to everyone that comes:D

Although I drive 102 miles round trip to work each day I think that MN to NM would be a little far to commute. BUT I know I would enjoy meeting all of you

MN/NM - just think we live in reversed states :)

Hey Dez,
I live 15 feet from the fence line to the Lincoln National Forest. I have a guest room that looks right across that fence. C'mon out sometime....We can burn some steaks and talk about...Hmmmm... Oh, yeah, guns...
Just don't tell BMan when you are coming out for a vist, you might leave with a Toyota...

To be honest with you I often think of coming out to your neck of the woods. I moved to MN in 1992 and this is the longest I have ever spent living anywhere in my life (retired Army).

PS - I can almost taste the steak!

A Meet & Greet? And give up all this anonymity? I don't know, it sounds kind of scary . Keep us updated and we'll see what happens.

ANONYMITY? With all of your Laws of Life I think we're getting to know you pretty well. We just want a face to put with the personality. Any chance of getting a list of those Laws, everytime I see a new one I get a chuckle.

I was reviewing the thread and so far the head count looks like:
Myself
BMan
Colt45
Cloudcroft P&D (+1)
: Dez (If he can get out of the snow in MN)LOL

Is no one else gonna make it out? If you aren't taking Richards course, we could always spend some time before or after and do some shooting and BSing.

Do you think he'd be willing to swing through Iowa and pick some stuff up for me on the way? He'll be leaving about the 12th right? :D LOL

BMan and CloudcroftP&D, will you be bringing your Keltec and Kahr (respectively) with you to the M&G on Sunday? I would be willing to provide some ammo if you would let me shoot a few rounds from each. I am looking at both of these as my next purchase for CC and am still undecided as which to go with.

Hey everyone,
I hate to bail on this weekend but my Grandmother is expected to pass anytime. I will be leaving Friday to spend some time by her side. I will be at the March event. I apologize for the short notice. Thanks everyone.

Bman,
We are sorry to hear about your grandmother. Please drive safe, and our thoughts are with you.

Scooter, you bet, we'll have the Kahr, it is Niesy's normal carry weapon. She is a bit annoyed at it right now and wants to spend some time with Richard. I think she is going to send it off for a hot rod trigger and sights. In any case, she'll have it on Sunday. I think the Kahr is fantastic for its size.

Richard has D'Niese's old Kel-Tec so he'll probably have it on Sunday as well.

Niesy had trouble with the Kel-Tec so I'm not sure I would suggest carrying one as a primary defense weapon. Hers went back to Kel-Tec once, but was still pretty unreliable. It basically did everything wrong, spit the magazine out at you and/or stovepiped. It was very small though...

I think BMan is a lot happier with his so maybe ours was just a bad one.

I also like a G26 for CC. I can conceal mine pretty easily so I'll bring it for you to try.

I was there, along with my wife. We had a great time and met some very good people. I don't know however who else was there from this forum. We got there a little late and missed the meet & greet. Richard and Butch put on a great class!
