I happened to come across this (see below) and was wondering what three Nationanl Parks are you NOT allowed to conceal carry in? I'm thinking that they must be in the Washington DC area but haven't found it listed. Does anyone know which three they are? I may not agree with everything our President does, but this one I do.
On May 22, 2009, President Barack Obama signed H.R. 627, the "Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure Act of 2009," into law. The bill contained an amendment introduced by Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) that prohibits the Secretary of the Interior from enacting or enforcing any regulations that restrict possession of firearms in National Parks or Wildlife Refuges, as long as the person complies with laws of the state in which the unit is found.[44] This provision was supported by the National Rifle Association and opposed by the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, the National Parks Conservation Association, and the Coalition of National Park Service Retirees, among other organizations.[45][46] As of February 2010 concealed handguns are for the first time legal in all but 3 of the nation's 391 national parks and wildlife refuges so long as all applicable federal, state, and local regulations are adhered to.[47] Previously firearms were allowed into parks non-concealed and unloaded.

Funny this thread came up. I just got back from Carlsbad Caverns, which is a national park. They have signs posted at the entrance that says it is illegal to to possess a firearm in the park even if you have a concealed permit. The signs are posted at the entrances into the buildings. I looked up on line, quickly, and their site said it was okay to carry. So question is, are the signs old, or are they allowed to put up the signs at the park directors discretion? What is the scoop? I am not sure at the moment. What I did? I left my weapon in the truck. I didn't like it, but I had my granddaughter with me and I didn't want to risk any problems with authorities with her there. Besides the signs were posted so NO ONE will have a gun right!? Yea right! I was going to take a picture of the signs on my way out but the battery died in my camera after taking so many pictures of the beautiful sites in the caverns.

The problem with the parks are that it is legal to carry in the national parks but you can not carry in any of the building!!! The building are all federal and that will get you in trouble.
The law lets the national parks fall under what ever the state carry law are.

Isn't that curious? The laws make it hard to know what is legal at anyone time or at anyone place. Law abiding citizens such as ourselves need to be pseudo lawyers in order to stay legal when carrying concealed. All we want to do is to defend our families from those who would do harm to them. (Then if you travel to another state, then there are whole new set of laws).
When will the politicos wake up to the fact that bad people do not read the laws or care about the laws.

Could not resist responding to that. Here is your answer.
Ruger is considering producing a new pistol in honor of Congress.
It will be called "The Congressman".
However, it does not work, and you cannot FIRE it.

Nice. That is funny. They should give one to every member of congress. Have you thought about contacting the park about the signs?
