I own several guns and never had a ccw license, honestly not sure if i want or need one. So I thought i would join here and see what it's all about.

Do not wait, get you CCW asap. If you have a spouse or partner, they too should have there license. My wife and my kids have theirs. Having your license allows you to keep your weapon in your car or on your hip! You know that on your hip is the safest place to keep your weapon.

I guess I just don't feel threatened. And I don't go to places were I think I might need to, like if I felt threatened at my place of work everyday then maybe I would need or want to.

I also don't like the idea of the government knowing. They know you own a gun just because you have a permit to carry one.

jljbtm, I understand. When you get into your car do you wear your seat belt? Or do you say, "well today I'm not going to have an accident so I would need my seat belt"!!

My wife and I were walking back from dinner the other night. I as walk, I'll turn around to see who is behind us. On this night, as I turned around I stopped! A young man (10' behind) wearing sunglasses (it was dark) and a hoodie sweatshirt (it was hot) with both hands in the pouch of his shirt was walking behind us. As I pulled my wife to the side, I placed my hand on my weapon (he could see I was armed), and said" you seam to be in a hurry, we'll just wait and let you pass, have a nice evening." He stopped, than walked by us and disappeared. You never know when and where you may need your weapon.
