I went to Walmart today to buy me some defense ammo. Their shelves were completely empty. The only hollow points they had were Federal Premium .9mm 124 Grain Hydra-Shok JHP. I have never fired this round before. Any one have any feedback from it? Pros or cons? I paid 21.95 for a box of 20.:eek:

I used to carry the hydra-shock before I found Hornady TAP. The hydra shock is a pretty decent round and I always had a pretty good groupings and they recoil was good. Never a problem with the follow up shot. Is'nt it amazing how much SD Ammo cost!!! The Hornady TAP I carry is 21.95 for a box of 25 rounds, 124 gr HP. Be Safe, Dave

If you buy most of your ammo from WalMArt I suggest you buy as much as you can when you see it.

I was reading another thred on a different board and one of the members finally found 9mm in wal-mart. He said there were about 8- 100 round boxes of WWB. He figured while he was there he would pick up 3 or 4 boxes. Then he saw a sign behind the counter saying only 1 box of ammo per person. When he asked the lady behind the counter about this she said we had to do this because whenever the got new stock the same person would come in and buy it all. What I dont understand is if wal-mart sells that much ammo why is'nt Winchester kissing their butt and giving them all the ammo they can!

I'm retired LE; we used to carry Fed. 124 gr. H/S in our issued G17s. A good round w/o excessive recoil. We were required to qualify with duty ammo. Never had any feed issues/misfires with this round. Spouse carries this ammo in her G19.
