The one that you are comfortable with!
I myself carry a S&W M&P .45. My next choice of the list above would be the J frame, but I own one of those too.

Another thought...many of us have more than one handgun that we carry. There are occassions when my primary carry (Glock 27) isn't feasible so I carry a J frame instead.

Well, I have a J Frame and a P345 and I like them both. Although the Snub .38 I have is super easy to hide. To each his own.

I voted for the Px4 and the J frame. Can't go wrong with either of them

I choose J-frame for the ease of concealment. Id rather have a semi auto primary, and j-frame secondary

Most of the time I'm carrying a Ruger LCP .380. It's very similar to a Kel-Tec P3-AT, most of you are probably familiar with it. It conceals very nicely in a pocket holster. No one has ever noticed it.

I carry several different pistols depending upon what I am doing and how I am dressed.
When in a suit or winter with coat I can pretty carry anything I own with the exception of the Lee Juras Automag. That one is a little hard to conceal at anytime.
Summer - I usually pack IWB (Milt Spark VM2). I typically carry a S&W M&P, Beretta Cougar, XD, or M1911 style. I have .45, .40, 9mm in all of these along with MS holsters for all. Depending on what I am doing I may strap on my "Miami Classic" SH. This comes in handy if I am spending a lot of time driving or on the Harley.
Regardless of how and with what you carry. Practice the draw (empty, cleared weapon Please) and develop the muscle memory to ensure it is clean and quick. Always practice the art of the draw first and then work on the speed.
I can average about 8.82 seconds to - draw, accurately put 15 rounds into a 4" group at 20 yds and combat reload.
Practice this till you get the 4" or less regardless of the time. And ole Army SF thing to practice is also - not necessary to wait till you're empty to combat reload and remember - don't drop your mag. Those two leftover rounds at change may save your life.

More important than the model of gun is carrying one that you can shoot well!!!!

I guess the best answer is what works for you. For me, I've tried IWB,OWB and finally pocket carry. I live in a warm climate, so the Keltec P3AT works best. When I can I wear a Taurus 605 .357 OWB in a Bianchi Black Widow, but I don't always wear a proper concealment garment.
There will always be arguments over the best gun to carry but I believe I've found the worst. I almost bought one of these on the recomendation of the gun store owner. Really glad I did a little homework first. Here's the gun

Good looking gun, good review, under $300.00 Here's where to get a little first hand info on it

I've never heard of such a problem ridden gun. Besides, not much reason for a safety on a DAO pistol unless your a little uncomfortable with the smartcarry holster.

I have an XD9 SC and a P3AT. They both have their virtues, depending on how "social" I plan on being.:D

I realize that this is an older poll but now instead of the XD SC, which I voted for, I would now vote for the XDM compact in either 9mm or .40

I carry the bodyguard 380 SW. Is very good. I also have the LCP crimson trace and its my favorite also. I wear my kusiak holster for my lcp ruger crimson trace and the bodyguard with an extra mag. its small and perfect to conceal. if you want to check what i bought go here, to www.kusiakleather.com . definitely recommend the lcp and bodyguard 380 for CC.

I carry a PT145 primarily, my second choice is my XD, and around the house or in my truck I carry a 1911. My wife prefers her Taurus Titanium 38, the rounds weigh more than the revolver, so it doesn't add much weight to her purse. I too on occation will carry the revolver.

I have been hearing a lot of good things about Bersa products. Made in Argentina and quite popular in South America. They're known for the Thunder 380 but also have a 9mm, 40SW, and a 45ACP. The prices are quite low and the ability to conceal is supposedly very good. I know that the 45 doesn't have a lot of magazine capacity. Anyone else know much about them?

I don't think I have ever fired one before. Might put that on my list of things to do.

I carry a Sig Sauer P239 9mm. I have noticed when I open carry, most people don't notice I have a weapon on my hip. My son carries the new Sig Sauer 1911 C3. As you can tell our family likes Sigs.

I'm like several of the others that have mentioned the Bersa Thunder, but both my wife and I carry the Bersa Thunder Plus .
The plus model has a thicker grip that fits my hand better and it holds a 15 round magazine . Between us , with one in the barrel and each carrying a spare Mag, we have ready 62 rounds.
Even if your not real happy with a .380 as opposed to the .40 or .45 , the availabilty of more rounds does help to offset the lesser caliber [ in my opinion ]. It is also an easy and accurate gun , without too much bite for a smaller person [ which I am not ] -- it's worth a look and if you get an oppertunity to try one out , by all means do so .

I didn't vote for anything in the poll. What I carry most of the time (which is close to always) is a 1911, in 45 or sometimes 10 mm. They are sometimes the full sized version or a Commander, and sometimes a little smaller, like this:

I almost never carry a revolver anymore, but if I do it is this:

Yes, it's a new gun show find. I had wanted one for a while, and finally found it. It shoots great and is dead-on accurate.

My carry weapon is a Sig Sauer P239 9mm. My son carries the new Sig Sauer 1911 3C. Both weapons have the Crimson Trace hand grip red dot laser. Sig makes a fine weapon, I would recommend either weapon for concealed carry.

I have read quite a bit posts about what is the "best" gun for cc and my thought is this who what the gun looks like as long as it fits in your hand nicely and goes boom accurately when you pull the trigger. now then having said that I prefer glock and sig not sure about anything else because not shot any other brand before other desert eagle. I would think it would more about what calibur of round one wants to carry and what is considered over kill by law enforcement

I believe a Sig Sauer P238 is a great platform for concealed carry. With the extended clip, one can carry 7+1. I also own a KelTec P3AT and it is junk in comparison (my opinion).

Being new to ccw here in wisconsin, I am curently "stuck" with two choices. Right now my primary is my S&W 1006 and my secondary is a S&W 3913LS. Both guns fit nicely in large Bulldog holster. I am a little more comfortabel carrying the 10mm instead of the 9mm but the smaller framed 3913 is a little easier to conceal. I am on the search for a S&W4006 to make my primary but have been unable to latch on to one yet.

Mine wasn't on the list, I carry a Taurus 24/7 long slide. I am a larger guy so I can hide it really well. The other day I was out and saw 1 of my friends, he asked why I wasn't carrying that day? I told him I was and he couldn't see it. I agree if it feels good and goes bang when you pull the trigger then that's perfect.

Welcome to the forum, Sargedog. I agree with your comments. I am left handed and carry a 24/7. It is very difficult to find a good left handed concealed carry holster for a 24/7. That is why I use a crossbreed. I have had the same experience of having friends ask me why I am not carrying, even when I wear a t-shirt. I also agree with your choice of guns. I own three 24/7s (.45 ACP, .40 S&W, and 9 MM).

I'm glad to see another Sig fan on the board!! I carry the P220 Carry.....Nice .45 with a 3.9" barrel. Perfect for conceal carry.....My next purchase will be the standard P220. Nothing but a .45 for stopping somebody..

I carry the Phoenix HP22 in a shoulder holster.
Seriously?
Not trying to knock your choice of guns, but I sure as heck wouldn't trust my life to a .22lr pistol, let alone one made by a company that doesn't have a highly trusted name.
With that said, I carry a Glock 23 most often, but sometimes I'll carry my Ruger LCP if I the G23 isn't easily concealed.
And Ranger-6, just for the record, I'd sooner carry a Phoenix HP22 than to be without a pistol at all. I was debating for the longest time picking up a two pack of HP22a's from a seller on Gunbroker. I think it was something like $275 shipped. That price is just too hard to pass up, and seeing as how I have access to a full machine shop and love tinkering, I would definitely smooth out the rough edges and polish them up to be a little bit more finished.

I have yet to CC because I have not seen a need. But in anticipation that I might need to, I have an MP40 that will do in most cases and am considering other options such as the XD 40 SC. I also like the Ruger SR9C and the Glock 26. the latter are the only really small guns I can shoot with adequate accuracy.
the gun i favor right now is the taurus pt 145, but there are times when i go with a sp 101 357 or a taurus 605 snubby in 357. then in situations that scream for a smaller gun i will carry a taurus 738 in 380. azrn
