Just popped in to say hi. Have been reading the forum (yes lurking..lol) for a while. I had been LTC in Massachusetts for 10 years prior to moving to NH. I have not been licensed for 10 years now and just completed the app for CCW in NH. The Chief told me I will get it next week.

In Mass. I carried a Astra Model 1916 (Hope Series) (Yes I know it is an antique but, is very reliable). I have retired it to my antique collection and am looking for a new CCW handgun. I have a PX4 Storm .45 but is really too big for comfortable carry.

Anyway, off to continue reading...

Welcome to the site from New Mexico. I have a PX4 SC and I love it. The best shooting gun for me. We are glad to have you, please stay a lurk as much as you'd like.

Welcome aboard. Is your Astra a .25 or .32? Either way, it's going to make a full size .45 seem huge. I have a couple of .25s. One is the most inaccurate, unreliable gun I own. The other is a Colt.

The Astra is a .32 and the SN puts it around 1923. I agree it does make the .45 seem huge in comparison. I also have a S&W .357 that is even bigger than the .45....lol.

Bman, I also looked at the SC as the salesman was trying to sell it to me as a CCW. But, the size of the SC is not much smaller than the full size .45 so did not see the value in the SC. The CCW problem is more of thickness than overall size I believe. What are your thoughts? I am still looking for a CCW gun, I love the Astra and it will look incredible after I finish having it plated but......

I only just recently acquired a PX4 sc as my CCW. So far, I love it. I have been carrying my Keltec PF9 before I made the purchase of the PX4. The PF9 is a great lightweight CCW. My thoughts are if you owned the full size you might like the SC. I used to own a full size XD 45 ACP and sold it because it was too heavy and bulky for me to carry. Some people here don't have issues carrying a firearm of that size.
