Went to the gun show at the civic center on Sat. Returned on Sun. to buy some ammo. There was a vendor with black plastic mesh over their displayed weapons. Had picked up a couple of their weapons to look at on Sat. Maybe I missed them, but never saw any signs prohibiting touching/handling their guns. Nor was I told not to. Sunday, was going to make them an offer on a G21SF.
As I removed the gun from under the mesh (again), the lady there was telling another guy to make an offer, so "the less I have to take home." Anyway, she got excited when she saw me take out the G21 and told me that SHE would show it to me. Maybe I overstepped my boundries, by I was annoyed by her tone and told her that I had already handled the gun on Sat. Needless to say, I left without making an offer. Unfortunate, because it cost her/them a potential sale. All the other vendors had cables or watched their guns very closely, but I never saw any of them tell browsers not to handle their guns. On the plus side, I got a great calendar, autographed by a fine looking and friendly "2009 Tactical Girl" named Rachel!!

I went to the last one (Summer) and it wasn't that many people on either day. This time it was packed and prices jumped big time (wonder why, lol). I had a good time still. Only thing I had a problem with was the method of payment. Some of the vendors did not take debit card. If I am going to buy a firearm from $500-$1000 I dont carry that much cash around. They said they accept checks but I am not big on carrying a checkbook around. Most people dont take checks that big anyway because it may bounce. Like I said, still had a good time.

Thanx, MrReady for reminding me: I used my debit card to buy the ammo. Wanted to run it as credit, but the vendor said there would be a 3% charge, whereas no charge to run it as a debit. I ran it as a debit, so hopefully I won't have any problems. Maybe installing a temporary ATM just for the shows in the future??

The civic center is next door to a bank; I know because I used the ATM there to purchase my holster. By paying cash I avoided paying sales tax and bargained the price down a bit.
