POMPANO BEACH, Fla. - Police are praising a Good Samaritan who was able to disarm and detain a gunman during a robbery.
According to police, BSO deputies responded to a report of shots fired at 3050 N. Andrews Ave. in Pompano Beach at about 11:40 a.m. When deputies arrived, they discovered an armed robbery attempt had been thwarted by a Good Samaritan.
The Good Samaritan saw the robbery and was able to disarm and detain the suspect at gunpoint until deputies arrived.
There was a report of one shot fired during the course of the event, but nobody was struck or injured.
Initial reports from the scene indicated that the Good Samaritan had a CCW license.
The gunman was arrested and police are investigating.
