Heres something that happened to me back in june. We are still undergoing litigation so i can't get into a lotta of specifics but, i think it's worth reading.
And I have learned a whole lot since then. I wouldn't make the same mistakes. It's amazing the way your eyes can get opened.

WOW. Sorry to hear that. That sucks big time and if you were really going to do something "bad" why would you have your gun out in the open. People dont think and should not crap thier pants when they see a firearm. guns are not bad, bad people ar ebad. They say OJ killed Nicole with a knife but people dont throw all thier steak knifes away so they should know the gun itself isnt a problem.

We are trying to schedule depositions atm. Hopefully they will get back to us soon with a date and time. They keep trying to send unacceptable settlement offers of roughly 10% of the total suits worth and then saying. this is our final offer. i decline them and then they increase it each time by 500 bucks.
They even offered to pay just my att fees and let us pass a guilty verdict against them. I proposed to my lawyer that we send them a counter offer of 5 grand total plus att fees and I would pay for the 7 officers to attend a college level constitutional ethics course of their choosing. while he thought that was funny, he didn't think it would fly so i decided against it.

Just in case anyone has any other prior knowledge of this case or the people involved with it. I'm not bad mouthing any of the officers involved or LEOs in general. I am just seeking to educate.

I agree with what you are doing 100%. Not only is it the police department that needs to be informed, But I believe that the rest of the community does as well...
