Hi all,
I thought I might try to get the discussion started by talking about one of the most difficult CC issues I faced. Namely, 'how to conceal'. My wife and I went through almost everything from belly bands to a bunch of diffrerent IWB holsters, shoulder holsters etc. Heck I have a whole box full of stuff that didn't quite work.
It was relatively easy for my wife to find a solution because she normally wears an outer untucked shirt over another shirt. So, a cross draw IWB holster works great with her Kahr CW-9.
I was a different story. The main problem for me is that I am a tucked in shirt kind of guy. I can't help it, I just don't feel comfortable with my shirt out. The fact that my 44 year old gut is starting to stick out over the jeans has NOTHING to do with it of course;). I tired a bunch of stuff without success.
I finally found a solution that may help someone else. The CrossBreed Super-Tuck Deluxe from http:\\www.crosbreedholsters.com (http://www.crossbreedholsters.com). It works great as a kidney carry solution. I can use it with a tucked in shirt and as long as you tug around on things a bit a G27 is invisible to anyone but a gun person. I highly reccommend the horse hide version because you can wear it during the summertime with no problems.
I feel like the holster is safe to dress with because the trigger is completely surrounded by plastic. I had one IWB that I tried that always made me feel like I was about to shoot myself when I got dressed. This is not so with the super tuck.
The main downside is of course access. Kidney carry doesn't work well seated in a car, and of course has the same problems as a small of back holster if you wind up getting knocked off your feet. However, it at least lets me dress the way I feel comfortable with thus making me more likely to actually carry all the time.
