Just out of curiosity, (don't think I am weird or anything) if you were to go to battle or war, what two weapons would you take with you and why? Just thought it would be neat to hear everyones response.

I should put what my choices would be.
1.M4 carbine w/ 3x optics and as many mags as I could carry. I fired one of these once before and loved it. Plus, my sister has one by her side 24 hours a day. She trusts it.
2. This is a tough one. I think I would choose the XD 45 5" Tactical. I like the durability and reliability of the XD line up.

Well, I dont own both of these (yet) but here we go.
Colt AR-15, becasue I used them before and seems to work smooth. 30 Round mags
are good also. You can add gadgets also.
Glock G36 - .45 is a good cal and glock seem to have many spare parts
easily found.

I would carry what I have carried in the past. They served me well!
My Primary was - M107 .50 Caliber Special Application Scoped Rifle SASR Long Range Sniper Rifle (LRSR)
Secondary - HK MP-40
Holster - HK Mk 23 Mod 0 .45

Scout in .308 for everything from 450ish yards in and a glock in either 9mm-.40-10mm-.45acp. Whatever had the most readily available ammo for the pistol. And .308 would be pretty easy to get ahold of the military uses that as well as .40/9mm/.45 Acp. I wouldn't use a 5.56 unless i had to. Just not enough "put the BG on his ass power" at medium ranges. it's velocity falls off to fast.

I probably wouldn't be much help in a battle or war, but if I had to make a stand I think I would choose a double barrel shotgun (old eyes and intimidation factor) and a Colt Single Action or .44 magnum (reliability). I don't think I could hold out for long though.

+1 Colt 45
I no longer have the endurance nor abilities to be of much use in such a situation. The only option I think I have left would be stealth at night. Give me some of those arrow-tip artillery rounds Rambo used when he went in to get the vietnam MIA's and let me adapt them to a Crossbow Upper Reciever for the AR 15.
No-kidding, this is for real:

I would take an AR-15 and a Glock 19. I own both and know them well. I find them reliable and both are chambered for NATO rounds.
I'll take an M1 and an M1917

You go SAM, a 1911 would round it all out.

I would expect to not be going alone,so il leave the big weapons to the tanks.I would take my Barret 6.8 SPC.30 rounds with a Surefire on the end,16" barrel can be used inside.
Im going a different route then everyone else.My backup would be a shotgun.Right now ive just got a few break barrels, but im waiting to see how the Keltec KSG fairs.
Its not just about killing potential, shotguns are nice to have when you need to shoot locks off.
