We have talked about what everyone drives, so I thought we would talk about were everyone works?
I work at Desert Sun Motors. I have been with them for 12 years now. I started off selling cars for the General Motors side and was promoted to sales manager in 2004 for the Toyota dealership. What perfect timing for that. I also was a partner in a construction company as a side job for a few years called Sky Construction building houses here in Alamo. Once the market started getting shady we bailed on it. Anyways, this is my work story.:)

I am retired (3 times). I retired from the United States Air Force with 20 years service in 1981. I then worked for General Electric in Syracuse, NY (later became Martin Marietta and then Lockheed-Martin) until I got laid off in 1995 (I now draw a pension from them), and then went to work for United Defense (now BAE) in Minneapolis, MN until I retired in 2004. I do a lot of volunteer work now (habitat, Church, Veterans organizations) and do handyman work for extra cash.

Hmmm - where to begin.
Let's see - retired from the US Army in 1992, recalled in 97, retired again in 1999, recalled in 2001 and retired for the third time in 2004.
The best part of it was that each time I retired it was based upon the current number of years and the current base pay which is substantially more than in 1992.
Hopefully the 3rd time is a charm!
For now I am a VP in a software for a service (Information Technology) company located in the Twin Cities of Minnesota.

hmmm, about 4 years tossing newspapers, 10 years at grocery stores (started at $1 / hr), 6 years in nursery & landscaping, 5 years managing home improvement centers, 25 years as a mainframe systems programmer (current occupation). Hoping to have a job for 5 more years and that my 401k isn't a 0k by then.

I used to be a truck driver, now I'm an electrician. I drove a limo part time for a while. I still maintain my commercial driver's licenses just in case some genius invents a way to make electricity wireless. Not likely, like they say...there's no money in the cure, just the medication.
