Spring Turkey starts in just two days (here in NM). Anyone else around here gonna be hunting this spring...or anywhere for that matter?
I know this is a CC forum, but guns is guns and I love hunting. Hunters, lets hear your plans for this spring and this year.

I know that were we are having our FJ rally this year we saw about 300 in two days. They were all around Mayhill. Where are you going hunting at?

As a good hunter, I will die before telling the location of my hunting spot. For turkeys, when you find a roost, you gaurd that knowledge with your life.
So we will just say that I'm hunting a piece of private land in the mountains.

It worked out that way for me Wednesday. I got to my spot at 3:30 in the afternoon on opening day and by 6:30 had a nice gobbler down. Around 20 lbs, 9 9/16" beard, spurs were 1" and 7/8". Called him in to about 7 yards...not a bad day.

Congratulations Scooter. I haven't even drawn the last few years. Sometimes I wonder why I even try. Got a private land permit for Elk last year. Only got one opportunity if you could call it that, 330 yards up on a ridge with houses on the other side. I really couldn't take the shot and it still bums me out. Anytime you can come out the hills with dinner, you done good:D. Again Congratulations.

thanks Bman. And Grampa, I hope to draw out this year as it will probably be my last year to hunt here and I've been less than successful with big game thus far...my fingers are crossed
