the reason behind my use of plastic is cause I have not gotten all of my tips in brass yet but I'm working on it but I do use a brass cleaning rod

Dewey one piece stainless for rifles and long barrel handguns. Plastic or aluminum for short barrel handguns.

the plastic tips are more likely to break, and brass or the coated rods are better check out the web site www.AGI.com and check out their cleaning video it is very infomative, when it comes to rods one piece brass, coated are best, try to stay away from the aluminum three peice rods, and the brass tips wont break.thats a plus
