Hi, I'm new to the forum and wanted to introduce myself. I am currently waiting for my Concealed Carry License. I took the coarse and sent all required paperwork in the beginning of Feb. I called after 90 days of waiting and was told it was the fault of a local agency which had not returned a background check. So I sit here patiently. I plan on concealing a Glock23. I've purchased two concealed holsters, a crossbreed and a middle of the back nylon holster with a clip, well a third if you include the yaki style Fobus. Although open carry is legal in NM, I'm still leery about carrying because of the un-informed especially law enforcement. Thanks for letting me blab. I wish everyone a great day.

Welcome from Las Cruces!
I know it's tough to wait. Yours seems to be taking an extra long time, but it will be worth it once you get it.

Waiting is always hard.
Just to let everyone know, my wife and I are also from Alamogordo and we sent our forms in on Jan 20th and they signed for them on Jan 22nd. I got my conceal carry license on March 13th but my wife still has not gotten hers!
(Just imagine how hard that would have been if the roles were reversed and I was doing the waiting!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
She has contacted them several times and they say it is still in process and the last she heard a month ago was that it should have be sent in two weeks from then.

Welcome to the site. We are glad to have you. I will agree, waiting is the hard part. My wait time was about 2 months. Not to rub it in or anything.

Hang in there guy, it'll come. Mine took five and a half weeks, but that was a couple of years before it got so popular that the line became so long.

Again, thanks for the re-assurance. I am patiently waiting. When I called and spoke with someone I was told that the wait was due to a local law enforcement agency that had been asked for background information in Feb, but had not responded. Supposedly a 2nd request was sent to them. I plan on calling and checking status next week.

BTW, how do you change your status from Junior Member to Member? Is it a time and amount of posting? Just curious.
