Good news for concealed carry permit holders. I heard on the radio this afternoon that the concealed carry in national parks that was put on hold when Obama took office has been added to the new credit card bill that Obama is about to sign.
The republican party got the concealed carry law in national parks attached to the credit card bill. I'm not exactly excited about the credit card bill itself, but at least something good will come out of it.

Here's a link to an article I found on the topic. Some of the wording in it is just funny. "the National Rifle Assn. is too strong to overcome. So if the White House and Democrats in Congress want to pass consumer-friendly credit card reform, they have to swallow hard."

Hunting is allowed on many public lands, so permitting guns in certain parks and wilderness areas is a no-brainer. But loaded? Concealed?
I guess it makes sense if you really think about it. If handguns hidden in fanny packs are outlawed, then only outlaws will hide handguns in fanny packs.

Does anyone know how our reps from NM voted on this?

They voted in favor of it. But from what I understand, the law will not go back into effect until next February.

who exactly would we be concealing the firearm from in the national parks? the trees? the mountain lion that we want to have "tactical advantage" against?

don't get me wrong. it's a step in the right direction. but, this is frustrating. CC is just politically correct carry if there is such a thing.
