Has anyone heard anything more or know the 22 year old who was shot at the Alamo Apartments on Tuesday? Here's the story in the daily paper. STORY (http://www.alamogordonews.com/ci_12514412)

I hate to see stuff like this in the news.. Ammunition for the idiots that want more gun control. Sounds like an accidental shooting. Time will tell.

ya, it does but lets keep the speculation to a minimum until we are sure exactly what happened. it doesn't say who's gun it was, if someone else was there, if the gun was actually in the apartment when they got there, or where the wound was.

i hope that this turns out to be a story with a happy ending, ie. the guy lives and it actually is a reason to purchase a handgun to defend yourself because he didn't shoot himself he was shot.

I heard this story from a VERY reliable source and this is probably not the place to discuss the details of it. But to answer your question Jizzle, where he was shot may have made him "less of a man" if you get the jist. Keep your ears open on base, it's the reason everyone is reaccomplishing their Vred.

If this is not a good venue for discussion then I apologize. My initial intention of this post was to insure a member of this site was not party to the incident. Secondly, was my concern for the perception the non-armed community has on those of us who exercise our rights. I hope all turns out well and everyone a great and safe weekend.

No matter what the cause of this incident, pass on to everyone a reminder of the basics of safe gun handling. If that person does not understand those basics, recommend some professional training to help them and the people that depend on them for their safety.

from how its sounding, it's probably someone scooter and i know unfortunatly. but, i've been on leave and out of the loop. that's not good. i know a whole buncha people that live at the alamo apartments which doesn't narrow it down any.. hopefully he's good to go.

Well, you know how it goes. Everybody hears things that may or may not
be true. However, it seems most of us have heard the same thing. I hope
he makes it through this and learns a valuable lesson.
