Am thinking about purchasing a 22 WMR derringer revolver .
Asking opinions on manufacturers and type of holster for that type of weapon.

interesting choice of weapon.
i assume (and possibly incorrectly) that you are purchasing this for a carry gun and that you are of the mind that the only wrong gun is the left gun, meaning the one you left in the truck, the house, the nightstand et because it wasn't comfortable or easy enough to carry?
my uncle uses a 22 mag revolver as his everyday pocket gun. i'll ask him what it is.

Here is a good review of the new Dixie Derringer, competitor to the North American Arms version.

This one would probably be the better choice since it comes with both 22 mag and 22 LR cylinders. I think it also comes with a holster, depending on the model.

These are NOT long range weapons, and almost not short range either. The short barrel will destroy the design ballistics for the 22 Mag. All that extra powder becomes muzzle blast and noise, not a push on the bullet. The real downside is that these little guns have no trigger guard so they are designed to have a really hard trigger pull, which forces you to grip it very tight. If you modify that trigger pull, they become a bit of unsafe. You should fire one before you decide to purchase your own. The 22LR cylinder is pleasant to shoot, but the 22 Mag cylinder gave me the sensation of 5 times the recoil of the 22 LR's. While I enjoyed the novelty of shooting one, I cant imagine what they would be good for. Plinking at any reasonable distance is a no-go. (Sight radius is ridiculously short.) You cant hunt anything with it. If you have big hands, controlability becomes the dominant issue. The only upside I can think of is that they are cute. For less money, I could buy a fair quality Katana and feel far better armed.

Apology. My humorous but somewhat factual way of expressing a personal bias. Historically, the derringer is a close-in weapon. An alternative to a knife. Given the historical use and effective range, I would prefer a Katana. The humor was directed at myself. Notice that for Old Marine, I carefully selected positive reviews of the items he is interested in. But no matter how positive are the reviews, they do not change history nor physics, which is the source of my bias.
While I do not own a derringer, I do have a Katana. Just for you Jizzle:

Exactly the reaction to guard against when small children are around. If you ever get one, lock it in the safe when the kids are around as it is an accident waiting to happen.
I came back in here because I have found the perfect gun for Old Marine. Its a photo by Double Naught Spy, modified by Playboypenguin, with source credits here:
