I was talking with a friend the other day and somehow we got on the topic of concealled carry. The question came up on whether or not it is legal to carry concealled into a bank. My friend thinks there is a federal law prohibiting it but I am pretty sure it is regulated by the states. I haven't been able to find my books from my CCW class as of yet and was wondering if anyone knew the particulars of this for certain. Thanks everyone.

A bank is a business just like a Sunoco station. If there's no sign on the door, walk on in.

That's what I thought, and I've never hesitated to carry into a bank. After all, if I'm concealed they don't know anyway. But like I had said, this other guy swore it was a federal law or something that it was illegal to carry into a bank. Ignorance is bliss, right? I guess if he chooses to go unarmed then that's his choice.

I have not seen a sign prohibiting carry in a bank at all here in New Mexico. I always carry where it is not prohibited, banks too.
