Restaurant Carry Law Goes into Effect Today, July 14
Davidson County Chancery Court Denies Plaintiffs' Request
for Preliminary Injunction and Temporary Restraining Order
Yesterday, Judge Claudia Bonnyman of the Davidson County Chancery Court denied plaintiffs' request to issue a preliminary injunction and temporary restraining order which would have blocked the restaurant carry law from going into effect.
While the law will be litigated over the next few months, permit holders may now carry a firearm for self-defense in establishments that serve alcohol, provided the establishment has not posted the premises to prohibit the carrying of firearms and permit holders are not consuming alcohol.
