Since we have been discussing the .40 cal on other threads, I would like to know what would you all recommend (grain/brand) for carry ammo for a XD Sub Compact .40. I have heard a lot about Gold Dot but have never used or tested it.

cor-bon tends to make very nice sd rounds. look into them for your .40.

I have a couple of boxes of 45 ACP that is labeled "Personal Defense". That is what I have been carrying in my 45s. Not that it is necessarily great, but I figure if I was involved in a self-defense situation they couldn't accuse me of using "killer" ammo, whatever that is.

I've looked into the Cor-bon ammo but haven't been able to find any.

The simplest and most reliable way to double the effectiveness of your
ammunition is to put another round on target.

For some of us it is a challenge getting the FIRST round on the target!
