Here's a question for all you guys.

I'm right eye dominant and left handed.

I shoot rifles right handed and pistols left. Rifles I feel super comfortable with but, pistols however not so much.

I enjoy shooting pistols very much but, sometimes it can be very frustrating.
The problem being that unless I take my time and take slooow shots my accuracy is very crappy (in my opinion). This is because (i think) that I cannot close only my right eye. Its either close the left one or both or neither which makes for very interesting shooting left handed.

I have tried shooting right handed and am more accurate that way.
I have tried the pointer method and have success at short ranges with that.

My questions are these.

Should I carry right handed? Or should I carry left as it is my dominant hand?

Left is more comfortable but right is more accurate (by a long shot) provided I don't have a millenium to take my shot.

Question 2. if i'm going to improve my left handed shooting what should I focus on?

I know at least one person that fits your description. She went with the more comfortable handling (left) of her weapon and practiced her accuracy.

Left or right hand shooting, regardless, you should "focus" on your front sight :-)

My wife is the opposite. She is right-handed but left eye dominant. She tried shooting right-handed but had a very difficult time. After Richard (Garcia) suggested she shoot left-handed she did much better. She still shoots left-handed and is doing quite well.

I'm like your wife, Colt, right-handed left-eyed dominant. I am mainly comfortable shooting right handed, however during fail type drills with weak hand firing I do shoot very accurate. Maybe even more so then right-handed. However for weapon retention and dexterity I prefer right-handed shooting.

ya that's why up until this point I have been using left and carry. And i can hit what I aim at with the left it's just not to the point of my right hand.

right handed I can hit shooting clays that i put on top of the plinker at the gp range at la luz. left handed I'm doing good to hit the plinker.
