I was wondering if any of you who have served over in Iraq can verify or shed some light on this video? My sister served over there for over a year and she didn't come back with info like this. But she also was not on the front lines and in the heart of all the action.

My son went in to Iraq with the first wave of assault troops and he never saw anything like that going on.

Of course it's true (?). There are rules of engagement - rules of war, rules of conduct, and then there are morales. AND then there are stupid uncaring, wild animals known as humans.
Remember - humans are the only animal who goes out of his (her) way to torture and kill. Oh yeah - lets not forget the last part of the equation - the dammed media who believe only attrocities and other terrible articles sell papers and get face time.
I have witnessed some like situations as to what is viewed in this clip. It is human nature to get wrapped up emotionally in war. As a soldier you get very tired of looking over at a buddy - Hey Tom, can I get a smoke from ya? The reaching over 5 seconds later and finding half of Tom's face gone. It wears on anyone and at some point "some" people break and develope the "get even" attitude.
Thank God that these types of incidents are very rare.

I am sure a lot of them have a lot of anger built up in them from friends being killed in action. I believe that is what fuels a lot of this.

Sam - great point. 21+ yrs in the SF and to this day I don't want to understand the "why" of war. There is NEVER a winner just lots of memories of which I can say some are good and well, some are not.
Some of the finest and proudest days of my life happened during otherwise senseless war, some of the very worst too. If anyone really ever does understand please call me.

The day peace rules the world, is the day Man has becomes extinct. There will always be bad people who do very bad things. There are also good people who do bad things. I do not believe the people behind this video will ever be able to find the peace they are looking for.
