Let's see where this one goes. Hopefully not in the same place as the rest of the attempts.

I'm very leery about congress getting involved in CCW issues. It may sound like a good idea but trust me....there are no friends in Washington. I think they are "up to something."

Starting to carry again

I am not new to cc but don't own any guns at the moment but went to the range on Wensday and test fired a p229 and p239 as well as the g19/g23/g26.
I have not shot anything in the of pistol in about 2yrs or so and felt that the p229 and p239 were not as acurate as the glocks were. I am in no way knocking sig for the first 2 pistols I ever one was p226 in 9mm and the was baby eagle 40cal.So now 2 questions would one 9mm vs 40cal and whats the recoil like with gen 4 g23 and also wanted to say that i thought g26 was more accurate than the g19 because of the weight difference but i like the higher cap mags and I am 5' 9 or 5'10 about 190lbs or so give take whats gona easiest to conceal year round because it be 6 to 12 months before I can add 2nd gun.
One last was not real found single stack mags. I also am wondering about Tarus and if it is relable enough to carry.

I don't have any experience with Sigs, but do have some with some Glocks. I have the 19 and used to have the 26, as well as the 27, which is the .40 version of the 26.

For me, the subcompact Glocks are just too darn small for me. I prefer the 19 or the full sized 17. Did you know that you can use the higher capacity magazines in the model 26? It will accept model 19 and even the 17-round model 17 magazines.

With accuracy, the other guns may be just as accurate, but if you are more comfortable with the Glocks you will probably shoot better with them. I say go with what you are comfortable with.

Welcome to the forum!

Spend more time on the range with these guns before making a commitment. I was looking for a CC gun last winter. I liked the Glock 26 a lot. It has a good kick but I figured I could handle it with practice. It is a nice size and the 9 mm is the smallest caliber I care to go.

The G27 is a 40 S&W which is the caliber I prefer for any defense gun. I have hesitated trying it because I expect it will kick pretty bad. But I ended up buying a Ruger SR40C. It is a little larger than the Glock 27 or 26 but it handles the 40 S&W load quite well. I think the Ruger will do well although now that I have looked into CC more I don't think it is worth doing in most cases. You risk your house.

Back on topic, I'd sure like to see a uniform CC law and permits across the country. That's the only way it can be practical to carry a gun for protection while driving. I would like to travel between Alabama and Minnesota with an Alabama CC to visit family. My brother-in-law travels the reverse directions with a Minnesota CC. We each have a couple of "holes" in coverage, including the two destinations. His is no good in Alabama and mine is no good in Minnesota.

Looks like you both need Utah permits.

Florida might work, too, but I didn't look at it.
