I joined GSSF in January after hearing about the membership benefits: one blue label glock at law enforcement pricing per year. For only $35 membership per year, that's still a huge savings over what most shops sell them for.
After having a few rough months, I was finally able to free up the funds to pickup a new G23, but didn't want to find a dealer to track one down quite yet with my purchase certificate. I've been searching locally for one for the past month and they were all priced well over $550 used, and my budget was about $450. But, after being unable to track one down locally, I finally decided to call Glock and get a list of the participating dealers, turns out the dealer I had planned to go to before, had 2 in stock because someone ordered them and then decided they didn't want them after they arrived. I sped down to the shop. In reality, I didn't speed, as I was heading to the largest Denver area police supply shop, but it sure felt like a quick drive. After having an issue with my drivers license not having my current address on it (which I didn't think of), and having to drive back home to get an electricity bill, then go back. By the time I got back to the shop, the NICS check had gone through and I walked back in and out in less than 5 minutes with a BRAND NEW G23 (polymer sights and 3 mags) for ONLY $428 after all taxes. I am itching to get to the range to test it out, need more ammo first though, haha. Oh, and I found a guy on backpage.com that was selling 5 glock factory 13-round mags (7th gen) for $14 each (they normally run about $20 used or $26 new). I picked up all 5 and now have way more mags than ammo at the moment which is a problem I need to remedy. I will definitely be renewing my GSSF membership next year and picking up a new glock every year! Next year, either a G27 or a G34/G35! Hopefully there will be some armorers courses and/or matches in my area that I'll be able to participate in! Anyone else on here a member of GSSF? Ever participated in the matches or taken the armorours course? |

It probably would not hurt to identify your question a bit more. Granted, one would think that those in the Glock Member's forum area would tend to maybe know that, but these days, who can tell ?
Like what is GSSF ? It is the Glock Sport Shooting Foundation. Here is their website. http://www.gssfonline.com/ For those interested in Glocks, you seem to have found a real good method of getting the best price. I would be inclined to add a few cautions to that deal. So far, it seems to involve dealers who primarily supply Law Enforcement type purchases, with the certificate you mention allowing non-Law Enforcement folks to participate in the price for LE. I can see where that situation may result in confusion and frustration. For example, in California a non-LE guy simply cannot purchase legally a Glock with factory Mags that have not been Clintonized already. (10 round only) Even worse, the Blue Label LE Glock (and Box set with three factory mags) which might have desirable collector value will be lobotomized to remove the factory mags and replace with only two Clinton mags. How that works elsewhere, well, your milage may vary. |

Didn't really have a question, was just excited about the deal I got and thought I'd pass along the information about it.
GSSF is the Glock Sport Shooting Foundation. As a member, you are entitled to ONE Law Enforcement priced Glock per year. I have no idea what the laws are regarding the anti-gun states like New York and California, but you are still entitled to ONE LE priced Glock per year in those states. But, the blue label glocks are sent to the states prepared for the states laws. Yes, they may have to swap mags in the shop for lower ones, but I don't know. I've never stepped foot in California and have no appeal to do so. The program also allows members to take the Armorers Course, which certifies you to work on Glocks and you also get to order Glocks that way as an Armorer, so in short, more cheap Glocks. |
