I like my Kimber! And you are right, very accurate. The gun that it is. Me that's another story, one I am working on. (lol)

Question for you Bman. The recoil springs in you Kimber are they silver or are they a darker color? The reason I ask is I replaced my recoil spring assembly and the original was silver. What I got from Midway USA was a darker color (it was a Kimber spring assembly). I heard that Wolf springs was makeing the recoil springs for Kimber now. The performance picked up considerably after installing the new spring assembly.

Enjoy the Kimber!

Default 1911 Mags

Most folks that I know have reported better results with Wilson Combat or Chip Mccormick mags. I use wilson combat in my Les Baer Stinger.

I have a rock island mag, a colt mag and an off brand mag.. The worst functioning one I have is the colt. The other 2 work like a charm. No fails yet. The colt doesn't lock the slide back after the last round and fails to feed every 8th or 9th round..

I doubt this is the case with all colt mags or even the majority. Mine is just probably old, I did buy it used and it's time to buy some new ones.

I like the Kimber mags. They are somewhat tuned a little better than some of the others on the market. I actually carry kimber in my colt.

I haven't found a 1911 that wouldn't feed with a Kimpro or Wilson Combat. I have had some bad luck with the Chip McCormicks though.
