OK, no pressure, but it's been a few weeks, have you shot it yet? Do I need to add a Remi to my collection?

Poor decisions today can make for good stories tomorrow!

haven't been to the range yet and nobody has tried to break in to our home yet so the R-1 remains unfired.

Thanx for asking,

Don

A Memorial 1911 Match...the Otero Practical Shooting Association will be hosting a memorial 1911 match on Memorial Day, May 30 at 9:00 at the Sidney Paul Gordon Shooting Range in La Luz in honor of John Browning and his 1911.

While you are encouraged to bring a 1911, you are welcome to come compete with whatever you have.

Hope to see you there!

Is it an all-day event?

Smile New Sig 1911

I too am a fan of the 1911's. I just purchased a new 1911 Sig Sauer Tactical. I've only been to the range once and it was fantastic right out of the box.

When my wife and I go out to dinner or to a movie she carries a Sig P239 with a Crimson Trace laser.

Carried one daily, for 15 years. Now I carry an XDm 9mm 5.25. LOVE the 19 round mags.

Big fan of the 1911. Just purchased a 1911 Sig Sauer tactical. Nice gun, great out of the box. I had a problem, the ejecting brass was hitting the slide causing the Nitron finish to chip off. Contacted Sig Sauer with photos. They requested the weapon be returned. They covered the cost of the FedEx shipping , both ways Another week to wait and it should be coming home. Will let all know the rest of the story soon.

Sad to hear about having to ship a gun back. Guess I have been very lucky, never having to have ever done that.

The 1911's are like nachos. You can't stop with just one. Been looking for a suitable partner for the Colt Combat Elite. The Remington's are nice but having teething pains. The Springfield Mil-spec is great but it rattles like the real WW II models. The Kimber's and a few others deviate from the 1911 design in ways I do not like. The Nighthawks and Ed Brown's are way too custom built (meaning very expensive) and do not shoot any better than the colt.

Until now, no suitable partner.

Enter the Ruger SR1911. Stainless steel sand-blast finish well contrasting with the stainless frame satin finish of the Colt. Trigger is incredible out of the box....and is adjustable. Just be patient. There is a waiting list for these. I always thought the Colt with its stock pachmeyer grips was just super until I saw the rosewood grips of the ruger. The sand blast finish of the ruger actually feels close to the grip of the wrap-around pachymeyers in the front of the grip. Very unusual feel for metal, especially stainless.

I do have a Colt Model 70 I purchased new, it is one of my favorite guns, too heavy to carry though. My carry gun is an XD-9
