Default A thought from Oklahoma

While visiting my dad in OK I ran into an ole friend who happens to be the CLEO in a major city.

He was laughing at some of the thoughts being rolled around in WDC. One particular thought the politicians thought of he loves.

Every citizen who legally owns a firearm in America should have an * by their name in the phone book.

Of course my brain lit up at this but B4 I could get a word in he said - just think, who will the BG's target, a home where they might have competition or a home wher there are no guns.

Strange - but he has a point - BUT I still say NO! I prerfer being "Descreet" (snicker)

Would that mean that the supposed anti-gun politicians, that shouldn't have guns cause they don't like them, would not have a asterisk by their name? Hehehe. Just a thought. I know it is not real world with the ability to opt out of the phone book and all. Even if it mandatory for us, I imagine the politicos would find a way around it like they do now.

CELL PHONE-no home phone,no phone book. I'm sure they would find a way tho.
Kind of defeats the purpose of going through the hassle of getting a permit.

Now we know Descreet is psychic. You beat the wacked out newspaper by over two years.

What really puzzles me is why noone on this site has commented about today's action. Well 16 Jan 2013. The frontal assault on the second ammendment has begun. Treason in high places. Two prominent political wacks have already stated on national news that their idea of gun control is total confiscation.

I am stunned by the executive crap. The president can only issue clarifications to existing law. He cannot make law. And now he has deputized medical folks to ask about firearms during medical procedures, has he destroyed the hippocratic oath of medicine ? I need to stop before I blow a fuse.

I wonder where Descreet is. I hope he is okay. I know he's had some health problems.

I agree with you Sinclair. I thought about posting here but I too was just seething. We all need to get involved.

Tomorrow is National Gun Appreciation Day. If you can, take someone to the range that has never shot a gun before. You can celebrate also by going to the range yourself.

On Saturday, January 26th there is a pro-Bill of Rights Rally. There are some big names scheduled to be there in Alamo (10th & White Sands). My whole family is going.

I know it is discouraging, but we need to bombard our representatives both at the state and federal level with letters, etc.

Does anyone else have any recommendations?

Max

I started emailing my Senators and Representatives as soon as this nonsense started. I even sent one to the White House. I know that one didn't go anywhere, but it's the point of the thing. Try to understand that this is part of the Democratic Party Platform. They just didn't advertise it during the election, though there were some passing comments. These Bills were already written up, they were just waiting for an excuse to bring them out. This campaign is going to get as nasty as Chicago politics, since the Obama campaign commitee has reformed into a Gun Control Superpac with the intent of tearing down the NRA as their stated goal. All we can do is flood our Senators and Representatives with emails. Their websites normally have a button to click on if you want a response. Tread carefully and keep it polite. The NRA-ILA website has some good info on the email process if you want to check it out.
It's time to get involved in the process people!

Excellent. So have I. We cannot stop. Everytime one of our ignorant congress critters sneezes or utters the anit-gun crap, write again.

Here was my short letter on 16 Jan to Udall, Heinrich, and Pierce.

"I understand that, like me, you are under oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. The battle is now on. The right of the people to keep and bear arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED. I trust that, like me, you intend to be an oath keeper.

I have never been more concerned for this nation than I am today. 16 January, day of Infamy and frontal assault on the constitution. I still cannot believe this is happening in my America."

Sorry Max, I missed out on the 26th gathering. I will make every effort not to miss future events of this nature. Been reading Jefferson's writings on tyranny. Wow, he says it won't start with taking away the 2nd ammendment. He says tyranny starts with a build up of incredible national debt.

The thing I am now watching for is special funding from the justice department ("Fast and Furious" Holder) that is supposedly flagged to begin a public campaign to vilify gun-owners. Yeah, our own tax dollars at work.
