I just received my Kimber Ultra Carry II and currently searching for some magazines for it. Should I stick with Kimber Mags or do you guys have the same amount of luck with after market mags? If so, which brands do you prefer?

I use Kimber mags in all my 1911s. They have operated flawlessly and are pretty cheap too. I'd stick with them.
1911 mags are 99% universal though, so bargain shop away.

So, have you had a chance to try it out yet?

I carry a Kimber Tactical Ultra II 24/7. I have tried 4 different magazines. The stock mag that comes with the gun, KimPro Tac-Mag, Wilson Combat and a Tripp Research CobraMag.
I have the Wilson Combat in the gun, the Kimber KimPro Tac-Mag in a pouch on my belt. This is how I carry. I feel the Wilson is a superior magazine followed closely by the KimPro. The stock Kimber mag does ok, but when the other two were performing flawlessly the stock mag would jam occasionally. I use it for practice only now. The CobraMag, well... I don't even use it for practice. Nothing I did would make it run well in my gun. This is my experience with 1911 mags. If I buy more I will buy Wilson Combat mags. I might try mags from Chip McCormick to experiment with, I have heard good thing about them.

I don't think there is any reason to stick with Kimber magazines, unless you like the Kimber name on them. I have 1911 magazines from many manufacturers and they all work fine.

Thanks for the tips guys. I went to the range yesterday to pump a couple hundred rounds through the Kimber and it operated flawlessly! I love it. A co-worker of mine got a new
XDm .40 and we both got to try out our new guns. That Kimber sure is accurate! Very happy with it. I will post some pictures later.
